  1. Develop using True Randomness. Our Core API lets your applications use true randomness from RANDOM.ORG's trusted technology. The Basic API gives you random values of many types and is useful for applications that high-quality randomness, such as games and simulations.
  2. Returns a random byte string that is cryptographically secure. By default, the random byte string is generated in AWS KMS. To generate the byte string in the AWS CloudHSM cluster that is associated with a custom key store, specify the custom key store ID.
  3. Choose from our API key licenses: (And once you've decided on a license, you'll want to read about how billing works.). Please note: Pricing on this page is only for the Core API. There is separate pricing for the Third-Party Draw Service and the Multi-Round Giveaway Service.
  4. Using an API key is a very common thing for pretty much any online application these days. It consists of a long string of characters that typically appear to be random. Hotcakes Commerce also requires an API key for other applications to “talk” to it. Follow the documentation below to generate your own key.
  5. Creates a new key, stores it, then returns key parameters and attributes to the client. The create key operation can be used to create any key type in Azure Key Vault. If the named key already exists, Azure Key Vault creates a new version of the key. It requires the keys/create permission.
  6. The randomness comes from atmospheric noise, which for many purposes is better than the pseudo-random number algorithms typically used in computer programs. Part 1: The Strings Generate random strings (maximum 10,000 ).

All the keys vary in length and the characters they contain, I'm wondering what the best approach is for generating an API key? I'm not asking for a specific language, just the general approach to creating keys, should they be an encryption of details of the users app, or a hash, or a hash of a random string, etc.

Creates a new key, stores it, then returns key parameters and attributes to the client.
The create key operation can be used to create any key type in Azure Key Vault. If the named key already exists, Azure Key Vault creates a new version of the key. It requires the keys/create permission.
